The right heavy-duty corrugated supplier depends on the load, route and buying region. For palletized industrial parts or bulk goods, ask about box geometry, board specification, moisture exposure, pallet pattern and a suitable validation plan before comparing unit prices. This independently ordered shortlist covers large integrated groups, regional converters and a China custom-box option; it is not a performance ranking.
How this list was checked: We reviewed each company’s official website and relevant corrugated or industrial packaging offering on 26 September 2026. Inclusion means the company publicly offers corrugated packaging, sheets or bulk solutions relevant to a heavy-duty brief. It does not mean every company will accept every order size or destination. Confirm the exact plant, board grade, test method and commercial terms directly with each supplier.

1. International Paper
International Paper presents laminated bulk bins for dry flowable goods and industrial parts, including designs that combine double-wall and triple-wall corrugated. It is a useful candidate when a conventional RSC carton is the wrong geometry for a palletized bulk load. Ask whether the bin shape, liner and emptying process match the actual product; do not infer a weight limit from wall count alone.

2. PAKORO
Pakoro’s shipping-box page is the relevant starting point for buyers seeking a custom corrugated carton from China. Share the inside dimensions, packed weight, packing method, pallet plan and destination so the team can propose a structure and quote comparable quantities. Request a sample and agree on the performance checks for your actual transport conditions before approving production. Availability of a particular double- or triple-wall build, MOQ and lead time must be confirmed against the specification.

The following video remains from the original article. Discuss the product and route shown in your own brief rather than treating footage as proof of a proposed box’s compression rating.
3. Smurfit Westrock
Smurfit Westrock explicitly offers heavy-duty shipping boxes; its industrial range also includes pallet boxes and octabins. This breadth can matter when a buyer needs a large pallet load, bulk contents or alternatives to a traditional wooden crate. Ask which local operation can supply the destination and what board, closure and testing are included in the quotation.

4. DS Smith
DS Smith describes heavy-duty industrial packaging, including pallet-based formats and double- or triple-wall kit packaging. A buyer replacing reusable containers or shipping machinery kits should compare assembly labor, flat storage space, product restraint and return logistics. Request a sample packed with the real parts and confirm the performance criteria for the full unit load.

5. Packaging Corporation of America (PCA)
PCA offers custom corrugated packaging and related design services in the United States. Its fit is strongest when a buyer needs a domestic converting relationship and packaging engineered for a defined product. Ask the supplying facility whether it can make the required board construction and whether the proposed test is for the empty box or the filled, palletized load.

6. Georgia-Pacific
Georgia-Pacific Packaging describes an integrated containerboard and corrugated packaging business. Buyers with recurring North American box programs can ask how its board supply and converting locations align with the delivery footprint. Specify the end use and required checks; containerboard supply by itself is not evidence that a particular finished carton meets your stacking or moisture conditions.

7. Pratt Industries
Pratt Industries describes a recycling-to-paper-to-box model using 100% recycled paper in its corrugated supply. That can be relevant where recycled fibre sourcing is part of the brief, but recycled content alone does not establish compression performance. Compare a proposed sample, paper grades, box design and conditioning or transit tests against the same criteria used for other bidders.

8. Great Little Box Company
Great Little Box Company designs, manufactures, die-cuts and prints custom corrugated boxes from its local facilities. It is a regional option for a buyer serving Western Canada who also needs print or protective packaging coordination. Confirm service area, lead-time assumptions and whether the proposed box is suited to the specified pallet stack; do not assume every custom carton is a heavy-duty design.

9. Oji India Packaging
Oji India Packaging, part of Oji Holdings, describes corrugated packaging solutions for Indian industries. The former article used the name “Oji Interpack” and listed contacts that were not supported by the current official site reviewed. Buyers should use Oji India Packaging’s current website to identify the appropriate operation, then confirm whether it can produce and validate their particular heavy-duty format.

10. Greif
Greif lists corrugated sheets and bulk boxes with constructions from single to triple wall, along with flute and coating options. It is especially relevant for a bulk-bin or sheet-based industrial requirement. Ask whether the design is supplied as a finished box or sheets to a converter, and specify filling, handling and moisture exposure before comparing it with a standard shipping carton.

Choose a structure for the load and route
Double-wall board has two corrugated mediums; triple-wall has three. Those labels describe construction, not a universal load rating. A smaller double-wall carton with good product support can be a better choice than a large, poorly supported triple-wall carton. Determine the board grade, flute combination and box geometry together with the contents, pallet pattern, storage humidity and handling route.
| Condition | Starting design discussion | Check before approval |
|---|---|---|
| Dense, compact parts on a pallet | Double-wall RSC or die-cut carton with dividers and corner support | Packed weight, bottom support, closure and box compression under the intended stack |
| Large or irregular machinery components | Pallet box, triple-wall or a hybrid with internal restraints | Load path, lift points, restraint, handling and full-pack trial |
| Bulk dry goods | Octabin or bulk bin with suitable liner and discharge plan | Bulging, filling and emptying method, pallet footprint and humidity |
| Cold or damp storage | Board and surface treatment selected for exposure, plus controlled storage | Conditioned sample and stack test under the real temperature and humidity |

The pictured partitions separate products inside a carton, while the palletized boxes illustrate unit-load handling. Neither feature alone certifies a stacking capacity.
Send the same RFQ to every shortlisted supplier
- Inside box dimensions (L × W × H), product dimensions, weight per packed box and quantity per SKU.
- Product fragility, center of gravity, packing orientation, dividers or corner protection, and whether the carton is assembled by hand or machine.
- Parcel or pallet transport, pallet dimensions and pattern, maximum stack height, warehouse duration, expected temperature and humidity, and delivery country.
- Print artwork or shipping marks, any required coating, closure method, sample quantity, target order quantities and Incoterm or delivery point.
- The acceptance method: sample approval, agreed board specification and any compression or transit test protocol relevant to the full pack.
Ask each supplier to identify assumptions in its quote: dimensions measured inside or outside, number of pieces per pallet, board specification, printing scope, tooling, sampling, inspection and freight. A low unit price is hard to compare if these vary.
Validation and cost trade-offs
An edge crush value is a board property; a box compression result concerns a particular box design under defined test conditions. Neither alone guarantees protection for a packed product through a wet warehouse or a multi-leg route. Agree on test conditions, sample conditioning, packed load, pallet pattern and a pass criterion before treating numbers as comparable.
Cost changes with board grade and sheet area, wall count, box style, die tooling, printing, inserts, quantity and shipping volume. A flat-shipped pallet box may save inbound storage space but add assembly work; partitions can improve product separation yet increase material and labor. Compare the total packed and delivered cost alongside the risk of damage.
Buyer questions
Can triple-wall corrugated replace a wooden crate?
Sometimes, if the product can be adequately restrained and the complete pack passes the agreed handling and transport checks. Very heavy, irregular or high-risk cargo may still require a wooden or hybrid structure. Compare lift method, moisture exposure, export requirements and destination handling before deciding.
What should a supplier provide before I approve a bulk order?
Request a physical sample made to the proposed board and structure, a dimensioned drawing, print proof if applicable, written material specification and agreed inspection or test criteria. Confirm the approved sample and any permissible tolerances in the purchase order.
Is a higher ECT number enough to choose a heavy-duty box?
No. The box dimensions, board construction, closures, product support, humidity and stack pattern also affect results. Compare complete designs tested under the same relevant conditions.
For a China-sourced custom carton, send Pakoro your dimensions, packed weight, quantity, contents, route, pallet stack, print files and delivery point through the inquiry page. Ask for a sample and a written specification before confirming the production order. For general construction options, see the corrugated box product page.
